Monthly Round Up (September 2017)
September was another great month. Lance and I tried to keep busy, as always, and I think we were pretty successful. I'd say month two in our new home was just as great as the first. And the best part? People fit!!
This month we decided to make it a goal to actually have a weekly family home evening. It just so happens that some of our extended family had the same idea, and so we now have a weekly family home evening with all of us. Lance and I still try to have our own organized family home evening just the two of us each week, but unfortunately it doesn't always go as planned. It is really nice having others to help make it fun, since it still just the two of us, and others to help us stay accountable as well.
We started off the month by taking a short hike up to Grotto Falls. Lance had been there before, but I had not, so I was pretty excited when I found out just how close it is to our home. It was fun, and I definitely plan on going again sometime.
One of the things we were trying to do this month was get outside as much as possible before it gets too cold. Of course, we will be outside during the winter as well, but brr!! Still not as often as in the summer! We achieved that goal by having lunch one Saturday at Big East Lake in Payson.
The next adventure we enjoyed was our mile walk and the dripping rocks. It was pretty cool. I look forward to taking our kiddos there one of these days. (You know, when we actually have kiddos to take there. Ha)
The best part about this month? I finished my quilt! And? I think I may have found myself a new hobby! I've even started myself a new quilting board on Pinterest. So fun!
One last thing... most days I try to go on a walk on my lunch break. On this day, it started raining, so I ended up turning around and heading back, but not before I saw this: a deer! Just the day or two before I saw a baby deer running around, but wasn't quite quick enough to get a picture. Still neat though!
One more great month down, hopefully many, many more to come. Time seems to fly so fast anymore. Note to self: don't get to antsy about the future. Enjoy today, because tomorrow, it will only be a memory.
