Best of Utah: Blaze Pizza (vegan and gluten free options available!)

Calling all dairy free, gluten free, vegan, or other special diet friends! Boy do I have the place for you! Tell me, especially those who are are dairy free like my husband and I, how often do you actually get to go out to get a pizza? When a family member says, "hey, let's go get some pizza!" how often can you actually say, "hey yeah, that's a great idea!" I'm going to go ahead and assume, not often, but Blaze Pizza has changed that! Disclaimer, my husband and I do have one other pizza place we really enjoy visiting, that we don't have to ask for no cheese because they do offer vegan and dairy free options, but... well, Blaze has brought that whole idea to the next level.

Lance and I now like to refer to Blaze Pizza as the Subway of the pizza industry, because you pick your crust, pick your sauce, cheese, and then your toppings just like you would when building a Subway sandwich. Unlike the other very limited pizza options out there, Blaze actually gives you options, and many of them.

Today, for example, Lance and I each ordered a build-your-own personal pizza, which comes with unlimited pizza toppings, and they don't charge extra for the vegan cheese. Score! We even asked for extra cheese on top, because we both like cheese on top of our toppings, and the employee there did not even bat an eye. Even better? When Lance expressed that he has a dairy allergy, the employee completely changed gloves, and put brand new sauce on our pizza from the back, rather than risking the very possible cross contaminates from on the counter. They were super polite about it all, and even marked both of our plates as to ensure anyone else handling our pizza would be incredibly careful as well. I know they were careful, because I did not have to go home with a sick husband!

Blaze Pizza's allergen menu is super simple to find, and super easy to read. Simply search Blaze Pizza Allergen Menu on google, and you will find that you have all sorts of options whether gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc. I kept my phone up down the whole line so I could see exactly what I could and could not add to my pizza, which made ordering super simple. My personal favorites: pepperoni, tomato, black olives, and spinach. I loved the spicy red sauce, and the oregano sprinkled on the top was like icing on the cake...er...pizza. Lance thinks I'm crazy, but I thought it was great. He's a meat lover, so he had smoked ham, applewood bacon, and italian sausage, with oregano seasoning and sea salt sprinkled on the top.

Allergy free pizza aside, Blaze also offers some super fun drink options. We ended up getting a drink to share, and tried every juice flavor except for the plain lemonade. Personal favorite? Blood Orange Lemonade. Both Lance and I are mostly water drinkers, but it was well worth sharing a juice together here.

After today, I will definitely be visiting Blaze Pizza again. For those of you who might be interested, Blaze currently has locations all over the U.S. with more coming soon. The following is a link to the many locations on their website: http://www.blazepizza.com/locations/ It is well worth the visit.
